Restoring the River Chelt Corridor

Back at Dunkertons today clearing the bank down to the River Chelt. This is going to be a wonderful destination in the coming months.

River bank clearance is skilled, methodical work. Dense scrub, invasive species and years of accumulated debris must be carefully removed to restore the natural flow of the waterway and open up the riparian corridor — all while protecting the ecology of the bank and the watercourse itself.

Using specialist equipment including a powerful wood chipper, our team works systematically along the embankment — cutting, chipping and clearing to reveal the natural beauty of the riverside landscape beneath. The result will be a transformed, accessible and ecologically rich stretch of the River Chelt.
